'I am really excited!' - Alanna Kennedy joins NWSL side Angel City following four-year spell at Man City

Alanna Kennedy has signed with Angel City FC in the National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL) after a four-year spell with Manchester City.

  • WHAT HAPPENED?

    The 30-year-old Australia international has penned a one-year contract with the Los Angeles-based club for the 2025 season, with an option to extend through 2026. The move marks Kennedy's return to the US, where she previously played for Western New York Flash and Orlando Pride.

    Kennedy’s departure from Manchester City marks the end of a three-and-a-half-year stint with the Women’s Super League (WSL) club. After joining Man City from Tottenham Hotspur in 2021, Kennedy made 64 appearances, including 15 this season. However, she was notably absent from the squad for their 4-2 defeat to rivals Manchester United on Sunday in the WSL, signalling her imminent exit.

    In a heartfelt Instagram post, Kennedy bid farewell to Man City, reflecting on her time with the team and the memories she created.

    "I am really excited to join Angel City and return to the NWSL," said Kennedy in a release.
