Gary Neville has called on Manchester United to act quickly in the transfer market and sign a new goalkeeper, warning that the lack of a commanding No.1 is "undermining" Ruben Amorim’s early attempts to rebuild the team. Former Chelsea and France star Emmanuel Petit has urged Chelsea to sign Manchester United target Emiliano Martinez from Aston Villa this summer. The Red Devils have been linked with the World Cup-winning Argentine goalkeeper since the start of the transfer window and the club even saw their loan bid rejected by the Villans. However, Martinez could be allowed to leave for around £40 million.
Manchester United boss Ruben Amorim gave his verdict on the current batch of goalkeepers at Old Trafford amid sustained interest in Argentine star Emiliano Martinez. The Red Devils recently approached Aston Villa with a proposal to secure Martinez on loan, but the inquiry was swiftly turned down by the Midlands outfit.
Manchester United are plotting a swap deal to sign Emiliano Martinez from Aston Villa after Andre Onana suffered an injury in pre-season training. Andre Onana endured a torrid campaign full of mistakes that proved costly in key moments. His performances have raised serious questions about whether he is the right long-term fit for the club, especially given the expectations that come with playing between the sticks at Old Trafford.
