The Los Blancos coach was less than impressed with the nature of how his side conceded in their latest Champions League clash

Zinedine Zidane described the first goal Real Madrid conceded against Club Brugge as "laughable" as his side managed to salvage a 2-2 draw in the Champions League on Tuesday

Real found themselves behind at Santiago Bernabeu inside just nine minutes as Brugge attacker Emmanuel Bonaventure found the back of the net in fortunate circumstances.

After Zidane's side twice kept Brugge players just onside in the build-up, Bonaventure's poor attempt at a first touch still somehow beat a scrambling Thibaut Courtois.

Brugge would double their lead before half-time through Bonaventure's second goal, and though Real did salvage a point with two goals of their own from Sergio Ramos and Casemiro in second 45 minutes, Zidane was left livid with what he saw defensively from his side.

"The first goal we concede is laughable," Zidane said in his post-match press conference.

"It's not that I'm happy for getting a point, but I'm happy with the reaction.

“The first-half part was bad, we did not enter focused and the first goal they scored is laughable. The second-half was totally different and we did 45 minutes as we have never done. I want to keep the 45 minutes of the second half."

Real's veteran defender Ramos echoed Zidane's sentiments, labelling the first goal they conceded a "joke" and adamant the Blancos mus not be content with a point.

"It is a bad result but the reaction was good," Ramos told Movistar .

"We cannot be happy - the first goal was a joke. But I am sticking to the positives - the players changed the game with their attitude in the second half.

"In the end it is not that I am happy to add one point - there was room to add three - but I'm happy with the reaction.

"It is not that we started badly, but then we were not concentrating on where the opponent could harm us.

"In the end I want to focus on the last 45 minutes. We can't be happy but you always have to be thinking about the positive."

Having lost their group opener 3-0 against Paris Saint-Germain, Los Blancos now sit bottom of Group A and have made their worst-ever start to a Champions League campaign
