Linked also with Kawasaki Frontale, it was Sanfrecce who finally secured Teerasil's signature for the 2018 season. Champions of the J1 in 2015, Sanfrecce has fallen hard in recent times and only just narrowly avoided relegation last season by finishing in the final safe spot of 15th.

The lanky Teerasil has been with Muangthong United since 2009, leading the club to many successes in both the league and cup competitions. Such was Muangthong's strength, they were a constant participant in the ACL.

Muangthong are due to play Johor Darul Ta'zim in the 2018 ACL preliminary round on January 23 with the winner of the single match playoff going up against a Japanese team in the final playoff decider.

Despite his impending loan move, Teerasil could still be allowed to play for Muangthong in that important qualifier against JDT. The J-League doesn't start until the end of February, while Sanfrecce's non involvement in any of AFC's tournaments in the 2018 season also meant that Teerasil will not be cup-tied if he does play in the qualifier for his mother club.

With the move, Teerasil now joins former Muangthong compatriot in Chanatip Songkrasin who dons the colours of Consadole Sapporo.
