The Mexico manager has had no conversations of any sort with the USA about the vacant national team coaching position

Contrary to reports out of Mexico suggesting otherwise, Mexico manager Juan Carlos Osorio has had no contact with U.S. Soccer about taking the vacant national team position, multiple sources have confirmed to Goal

In an interview with Radio Marca Claro, Osorio admitted that there had been no "concrete" contact, but said that "there have been some contacts from people linked to American soccer," leading to speculation that the Colombian had been approached though back channels.

However, sources close to both the Mexico manager and U.S. Soccer have confirmed to Goal that there have been absolutely no discussions about the possibility of Osorio being offered the USMNT job.

Dave Sarachan has been handed the job on an interim basis and will coach the U.S. in a  Nov. 14 friendly against Portugal.

There is still no timetable on when the federation will hire Bruce Arena's successor, but sources tell Goal that, at the very least, replacement won't be announced until after the upcoming U.S. Soccer presidential election in February. The search for a new USMNT coach could go on into next summer, after the World Cup, and at a time when more viable candidates will be available for the job.
