The 22-year-old has been with the San Siro side since 2016 but has failed to breakthrough and spent the previous year on loan with his former club Santos. Flamengo want to sign the forward for 2019, but Inter will only let them have their man if they can take the two highly-rated youngsters in the other direction to Italy.

The 23-year-old has been limited to only domestic cup appearances for the Premier League side this season, following their promotion from the second tier in 2017. Leicester owner Top Srivaddhanaprabha is an admirer of Benitez's and would be keen to lure him away from Tyneside to replace the Frenchman.

The Finland midfielder is in the final five months of his contract and has drawn attention from Celtic, Rangers, Hearts and Hibernian with his play in Scotland.
