Leeds vs Arsenal Predictions: EPL Matchweek 11 Best Bets

Arsenal will look to continue their stellar start to the Premier League campaign when they travel to Elland Road to take on Leeds United on Sunday.

The Gunners backed up their victory over Tottenham in the North London derby with a 3-2 home win over Liverpool last weekend. Bukayo Saka scored twice, including converting the match-winning penalty, as Mikel Arteta’s side showed another gear to get the win after being pegged back twice.

Leeds, meanwhile, enter the match on a poor run of form, having picked up just two points from their previous five league matches. Jesse Marsch’s squad sits precariously above the relegation zone, but does already have a home win over Chelsea to its name this season.

Will Arsenal's winning run continue? Or will Leeds knock off another top London side at home? Let’s dig into the latest odds to make our Leeds vs Arsenal best bets.

Leeds vs Arsenal odds are current as of Thursday, Oct. 13, at BetMGM Sportsbook.

Arsenal are large road favorites over Leeds in this match, which makes a lot of sense given the differing form between the two sides. This is expected to be a high-scoring match, as the total is juiced to the Over.

Leeds vs Arsenal Betting Tips

If there were any lingering questions about Arsenal’s improvement from last year to this, those should have been answered by Sunday’s performance.

Arteta’s side outplayed Liverpool for long stretches and his tactical decision to start Takehiro Tomiyasu out of position at left back worked to perfection, as he took Mohamed Salah out of the game entirely.

So far, the Gunners have been nearly flawless, and they rightfully deserve their spot atop the EPL table. But how will they match up against Leeds?

Marsch’s teams are known for their high press, which, when executed effectively, can be extremely dangerous.

Leeds’ 3-0 victory over Chelsea in August was a great example of that. In that match, USMNT midfielder Brenden Aaronson’s willingness to chase lost causes resulted in him taking the ball off Blues goalkeeper Édouard Mendy to score the opening goal.

While the high press can pay dividends, it can also cause problems. Leeds have been susceptible to second-half letoffs, as the amount of running this system requires often catches up to players late in games.

Arsenal showed a willingness to play long balls against Liverpool, instead of forcing the build-up play from the back, a tactic that might also pay dividends against Leeds.

Leeds vs Arsenal Prediction

Leeds 1-3 Arsenal

This could be a tricky fixture for the Gunners, who will have to travel to West Yorkshire after defeating FK Bodø/Glimt 1-0 on a trip to the Arctic Circle in the Europa League on Thursday.

Arsenal have only kept three clean sheets in nine league games thus far, and I believe Leeds have enough in attacking positions between Aaronson, Jack Harrison, Rodrigo, and Patrick Bamford to score at least one goal at home.

Still, it’s hard to expect anything other than another convincing win for the visitors.

Leeds vs Arsenal Best Bets

➕ Over 2.5 Goals (-165) at BetMGM Sportsbook

WAGER: 1.65 Units

There have been three or more total goals scored in all of Arsenal’s league fixtures since the season opener against Crystal Palace, so backing the Over in this match makes a lot of sense.

Leeds won’t just sit back and defend, either, resulting in an open game between two attacking sides. And while I like both teams to score, I think the Over is the more sure-fire bet.

➕ Arsenal Win & Over 1.5 Total Goals (-125) at BetMGM Sportsbook

WAGER: 1.25 Units

The Gunners are unbeaten in their last nine meetings against Leeds, winning seven of those matches and each of the last four.

Gabriel Martinelli, who earned Man of the Match honors for his performance against Liverpool, scored twice in this exact fixture last season as Arsenal earned a 4-1 victory.

While I’m expecting this match to be a bit more competitive, I think the visitors get the job done to retain their spot atop the league table.
