Klopp 'not sure' of Salah’s chances as Liverpool’s penalty taker

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp disclosed that he is ‘not sure’ if Mohamed Salah will continue as the club’s penalty taker after his miss in their 3-0 win over Huddersfield Town.

The 25-year-old stepped up for his first ever penalty kick for the Reds in their Saturday’s English Premier League tie but could not hit the ball past Jonas Lonass.

Klopp revealed he handed Salah the opportunity to convert their chances from 12 yards out following his heroics that sent Egypt to the 2018 World Cup but remains uncertain of his chances to continue with the role.

“I thought it made sense after the Egypt penalty - obviously the pressure is bigger in Liverpool than in Egypt to qualify for the World Cup!,” Klopp told Liverpool Echo.

“I’m not sure that he is anymore… I think Daniel would have been a safe number in this group of players.”
