Maharashtra Chief Minister Shri Devendra Fadnavis has announced INR 10 lakh reward for Aniket Jadhav, who is part of the 21-member India Under-17 squad who would participate in the World Cup in less than a week.

Aniket, along with Mumbai-born Non-Resident Indian Namit Deshpande, are the only two players representing Maharashtra in the India squad.

Chhatrapati Sambhaji Raje, a descendant of Rajarshi Shahu Chhatrapati Maharaj of Kolhapur and Rajya Sabha Minister of Parliament, who helped Aniket secure an admission to Pune’s Krida Prabhodini school met Aniket’s parents at their residence at the fifth lane of Shahupuri, Kolhapur.

Aniket’s parents, Anil and Kartiki were honoured by the Raje, who is the patron of Kolhapur Sports Association. The 17-year-old is one of the two centre-forwards named by Luis Norton de Matos in his squad.

India play their opening Group A game against USA on October 6th at Delhi’s Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium.
