Charles 'Soja' Handas is admitted to hospital and he is in need of financial help

Former Kenyan international defender Charles 'Soja' Handas has been diagnosed with blood clot on his brain at Nairobi West Hospital where he was admitted on February 1.

The Kenyan defender, who also played for Oserian, Re-Union and Coast Stars during his heydays, cannot afford to cater for his hospital bill and is now in need of help from Kenyans.

Jerry Mupe, who has been with him and the family since then, has updated Goal on his status explaining that he was to undergo an operation last week but the scheduled exercise failed due to lack of funds.

"The hospital bill stands at Sh240, 000 and the operation will cost between Sh300, 000 and Sh350, 000 over the current bill. He was scheduled to undergo operation over the weekend but we are required to pay some substantial amount as deposit for the Doctor’s fee and theatre charges.

"We are therefore, appealing to everyone to join us in prayers and financial assistance during this difficult time."
