ES Setif 2-2 (agg. 6-2) Al Ahly: Tau stars again as Red Devils seal third consecutive Caf Champions League final berth

South Africa international Percy Tau contributed in both Al Ahly's goals in their 2-2 draw away to ES Setif in the second leg of the Caf Champions League semi-final staged at 5 Juillet 1962 Stadium in Algiers, Algeria on Saturday night.

The Bafana Bafana star had scored a brace and assisted once as the Red Devils claimed a massive 4-0 first-leg win at Al Salam Stadium, and they came into this weekend's meeting as favourites to make it to the final.

It took the Club of the Century just two minutes to find the back of the net. Tau played a neat one-two with Ahmed Abdelkader before setting up the latter, who did well to beat the goalkeeper and make the aggregate score 5-0.

The hosts upped their tempo in search of an equaliser on the night and after missing several good chances, they finally got it on the stroke of half-time.

The Egyptians failed to clear the danger and Akram Djahnit teed up Ahmed Kendouci, whose half-volley beat Mohamed El-Shenawy in the Al Ahly goal.

Riyad Benayad gave his team a lead for the first time in either of the two legs when he unleashed a powerful shot from distance that caught the Red Devils' keeper out of position.

However, Al Ahly were not ready to go down without a fight and in the second minute of added time, Tau was once again the hero as he did the donkey work before providing an assist for Mohamed Sherif to ensure his team won the tie 6-2 on aggregate.

The result also meant Al Ahly have now qualified for the final for the third time in a row.

They will play Wydad Casablanca in the final after the Moroccan side edged out Petro Atletico of Angola 4-2 on aggregate.

The first leg ended 3-1 before the North African side played to a 1-1 draw in the second leg played on Friday night.
