Eintracht Frankfurt captain Sebastian Rode has posted on Instagram to show off the extent of his head injury after he collided with John Lundstram in the Europa League final win over Rangers.
Rode went down bloodied following contact with the former Sheffield United midfielder's high boot. As a result, he wore a bandage and needed a new kit to continue his participation in the final, which Frankfurt won on penalties.
Rode shows off his head injury
Rode wrote on Instagram after the match, that saw him play on until he was eventually replaced in the 90th minute: "The main thing is to get the thing (the trophy)!!! Everything else doesn't matter."
What happened during the incident with Lundstram?
Lundstram got away with any punishment for his challenge on Rode in the fifth minute, as the Rangers player avoided a booking for a high boot as he attempted to control the ball.
Frankfurt would go on to win the final on penalties after a 1-1 draw, with Rode having been replaced late on.
