Cape Town City chairman John Comitis says they have been met with high demand by Kaizer Chiefs in their quest to lure Brilliant Khuzwayo from Naturena.

The goalkeeper, whose current Chiefs contract is set to expire at the end of the season, is a target for Citizens, who are keen to reinforce their goalkeeping department.

City were hoping to purchase Khuzwayo from Amakhosi during the current Transfer Window, but Comitis has since disclosed that Chiefs' expectations are beyond their reach.

“I haven’t spoken to his agent (personally). My recruitment head spoke to him a couple of days ago, but it appears to be that their [Chiefs] expectations are beyond our reach,” Comitis told The Citizen.

The City boss recently stated that Khuzwayo's agent Tim Sukazi had made demands that are unrealistic in the early stages of the negotiations.

“I think we are so far apart that in everything that we would be putting out the value, it would end up being a disappointment to the player, and I think we don’t want players to be in a negative mindset frame,” he added.

“So at this stage we are doing nothing,” Comitis concluded.

Khuzwayo, who is Amakhosi's second-choice keeper, has made only two PSL appearances this season.
