Tottenham vs Southampton Betting: Kane absence won't blunt Spurs

Tottenham Hotspur's showdown with Southampton in the Premier League on Sunday afternoon looks likely to be a fascinating fixture.

Spurs have been in sublime form and Mauricio Pochettino's men marched into the FA Cup semi-finals in style after smashing six past Millwall in the quarter-finals of the competition last weekend.

Tottenham are unbeaten at White Hart Lane so far this season - a run of results that now extends to 18 matches in domestic competition - and the north Londoners are priced up as Paddy Power's 4/6 (1.67)favourites to maintain momentum by coming out on top against Claude Puel's charges.

Spurs, though, will be without star striker Harry Kane, with the England international set for a prolonged spell on the sidelines after suffering an ankle injury in the opening minutes of the FA Cup victory against the Lions last Sunday.

Kane has been in scintillating form for Spurs, scoring 14 goals - including three hat-tricks - so far in 2017 and the loss of his considerable talent undoubtedly represents a major blow to Pochettino's plans as the business end of the season approaches.

Tottenham still possess plenty of quality in the final third; Heung-Min Son stepped up to the plate with a hat-trick of his own against Millwall, while Dele Alli is in a rich vein of form, having found the net in each of Spurs' last three fixtures.

Southampton will hope to be the beneficiaries of Kane's absence and the Saints, the last visiting team to win at White Hart Lane, can be backed at 9/2 (5.50)with Paddy Power to repeat the feat; the draw is chalked up as a 13/5 (3.60)chance with the same firm.

Spurs secured a hugely impressive 4-1 victory when they travelled to St Mary's earlier in the season and Pochettino's side will feel confident of getting amongst the goals again, for they have been in fine form in front of goal in recent weeks - particularly on home soil.

Tottenham can be backed at 5/2 (3.50)with Paddy Power to score more than two goals - a selection that would have landed in five of Spurs' last six matches at White Hart Lane; the same firm offer 11/5 (3.20)that there are more than three goals scored and that play would have seen punters profit from all but one of Spurs' last seven home games in all competitions

Saints have scored 10 goals in their last three outings and despite Kane's absence there is plenty of potential for the goals to flow; Paddy Power's 11/5 (3.20)quote, therefore, for more than three goals to be scored could provide punters with a solid option.

Over 3.5 goals at 11/5 (3.20) for a 1pt stake with Paddy Power
