The home team is favored in this contest and rightfully so as Bayern have consistently been one of Europe's top clubs. Barcelona have started this season well with their new additions but it is still too early in the year to say they are back among the elite.

This will be a back-and-forth match with Barcelona looking to control the game via possession and Bayern will look to pounce on the counter attack. Their counter is usually led by their speedy left back Alphonso Davies.
The Lewandowski replacement, Sadio Mané, has done well in Germany with three goals so far in the domestic season. He is flanked by both Leroy Sané and Kingsley Coman to make up a pacey three-man attack. The key component to their offense, however, is veteran Thomas Müller. He will link the play in the midfield and distribute the balls to the wingers.
Julian Nagelsmann has not been shy to change the formation in the middle of a game, especially when Serge Gnabry comes onto the pitch, so it will be important to monitor that during the game.

Barcelona have four clean sheets in five La Liga matches this season, but they have yet to face a team with the pace Bayern Munich has in attack.
