Kenyan giants AFC Leopards have confirmed the signing of Ghana striker Eric Kwabena Bekoe on a two-year deal, the club have announced.

The 31-year-old, who was a free agent after leaving Sekondi Hasaacas in 2016, was close to joining former side Asante Kotoko but the deal fell through after he was asked to have a two-week trial for coach Steve Polack to assess him.

Bekoe arrived in Kenya on Wednesday with his agent and signed the deal on Thursday after passing his medical. He was later unveiled.

"It's not by might but by grace that's why I've come this far so I give thanks to God," Bekoe said.

"I trust things will work and hopefully the goals will come as expected so that the supporters will also be able to make merry. I hope to start soon with my new teammates," he added.

Bekoe, who made his debut for Ghana in 2008 against Mexico in a friendly, won the Ghana Premier League topscorer award in 2007-08 season after bagging 17 goals.
