'Totally worth it!' - Wrexham fan queues over 13 hours to secure ticket to see Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney's side in FA Cup third round tie

Tickets went on sale on Monday for Wrexham's trip to Shrewsbury in the prestigious competition. Red Dragons supporter Dave Keighley says he waited 13 and a half hours in order to get a ticket for the third round tie, which takes place on January 7.

The supporter says that head coach Phil Parkinson even came out to have a word with the queueing crowd, saying on social media: "[Thirteen and a half hours] over night outside [Wrexham] ticket office totally worth it. Fair play Parky came and spoke to everyone in line too."

A win for Wrexham would see them match last season's incredible run to the fourth round of the FA Cup for the then-National League side, where they forced a replay against Sheffield United, where they lost 3-1. Having beaten fellow League Two team Mansfield Town and then National League South team Yeovil Town, the clash with Shrewsbury, who are currently 13th in League One, will be their biggest FA Cup test this season. Phil Parkinson's team have already overcome League One opposition, however, having bested Wigan in the Carabao Cup in August.

Before they visit Shrewsbury Town, Wrexham will come up against Newport, Swindon, Walsall and Barrow in League Two. The Welsh team are currently six points behind league leaders Stockport County but have a game in hand over their rivals.
