Revealed: Why Newcastle want Yoane Wissa AND one more striker before transfer deadline as Alexander Isak continues to push for Liverpool move

Newcastle have stepped up interest in Wissa, who is eager to make the move to St James’ Park. However, Brentford have made it clear they will not sell until they sign reinforcements. As per iNews, the Magpies view Wissa as Wilson’s successor, meaning an Isak exit would still require a separate replacement.

Isak continues to push for a move to Liverpool, but Newcastle are in no rush to sanction a deal. The club prefer to take their time finding the right profile to succeed him. Spending for the sake of it is not part of their strategy, even under transfer deadline pressure this summer amid the departure of Wilson and the potential sale of Isak.

Newcastle have considered Ollie Watkins, Porto’s Samu Aghehowa, and Chelsea’s Nicolas Jackson. Aghehowa’s valuation is similar to Benjamin Sesko’s, but Newcastle see him as more unproven. 

The Magpies will continue talks with Brentford for Wissa while monitoring other striker options. Isak’s Liverpool pursuit adds urgency, but Newcastle remain calm in negotiations. A double striker swoop is possible before the window closes if the right deals emerge for Eddie Howe's side.
