When will Ederson return? Latest on Man City goalkeeper after worrying injury left him in sling

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola was initially unable to provide an update on the goalkeeper's condition after the Forest clash as the Brazilian had to be subbed off at half-time. He suffered a shoulder injury after clashing with Willy Boly and was later spotted leaving the City Ground in a sling.

According to the latest report published by The Athletic, the Cityzens star is expected to be back on the pitch before the end of the current season. He underwent scans on his shoulder which revealed that he did not sustain a serious injury.

Stefan Ortega has been a reliable backup for Ederson this season and had to guard City's goal in his absence for around one month when the 30-year-old got injured against Liverpool in March.

While the custodian is expected to return to action by the end of this month, he is unlikely to feature in the club's upcoming fixture where they face Wolves in the Premier League on Saturday.
