Slot will hope that Alexander-Arnold's awesome goal will be a sign of things to come from the 25-year-old as they gear up for their first season under the Dutch manager after he replaced Jurgen Klopp at the helm at Anfield. The pair seemed to be having a good time together, too, which could be an indication that the right-back is open to committing his future to the Merseyside club by signing a contract extension, with his current deal set to expire in a year.

Liverpool will hope to get the Slot era off to a winning start when they come up against Ipswich Town in their first Premier League game of the season on Saturday. The following Sunday, they take on Brentford in their first home game of the campaign.
