With two games left in the regular season, Lingard and FC Seoul have guaranteed themselves a spot in the championship play-offs. Ahead of the mini-tournament, the former Manchester United midfielder attempted to give a speech motivating his team-mates to try and win the league but needed a translator to put his words into Korean, which made for an awkward watch.

Lingard has missed a lot of the 2024 season in Asia, but has returned with four important goals to help get his team over the line. He was also made captain for the second half of the campaign and will play a big part in their post-season adventures as FC Seoul look to win the title for the first time since 2016.

With two games still left to play, Lingard's side can still finish as high as second, although that is only if the teams above them lose their remaining games. Regardless, the 31-year-old will be keen to guide Seoul to a high finish and build some momentum going into the crucial matches beyond.
