    THE BIGGER PICTURE

Maguire is gearing up for this summer's European Championship, however, his build up to the tournament has been hampered by a muscle injury that forced him to miss the end of the season. He and England will hope he is fit for their tournament opener against Serbia on June 16.

  • WHAT NEXT?

England boss Gareth Southgate confirmed Maguire will miss their friendly against Iceland on Friday but it remains to be seen how much he will feature at Euro 2024.

Earlier this week, the Three Lions manager said: "Again, he’s progressing well. He won’t be involved [against Bosnia and Herzegovina]. Unlikely, I would say, for next Friday [against Iceland]. But, yeah, each couple of days that passes, we’ve got a little bit more information on how they’re progressing and how likely that is and the likely return date."
