  • WHAT HAPPENED?

Bayern announced the loan signing of the Spanish winger from Granada last December before making the deal permanent in the summer. The 23-year-old made just seven appearances in the second-half of last season but started just once as the German giants finished the campaign without a trophy.

    THE BIGGER PICTURE

Zaragoza's lack of playing time resulted in him wanting to leave the club after just six months and he ended up returning to La Liga with Osasuna, where he had been a regular starter until he suffered a metatarsal injury at the start of December.

With his career in better shape now than it was a few months ago, the Spain international has opened up on the difficult period in Bavaria, as he took aim at the club and the press.

  • WHAT ZARAGOZA SAID

"I was promised [at Bayern Munich] a lot of things that didn't happen," he told Relevo. "It took me a long time to adapt. It was a different country, a different language, a different meal, a different league. I'm not going to adapt in a month."

He added: "It was said that my signing was worthless for Bayern Munich. The press killed me because I supposedly didn’t know how to speak English or German. I don’t pay attention to them, I am what I am. But my parents suffered a lot."

    WHAT NEXT?

It is not yet known when Zaragoza will be back in action for Osasuna, who are 10th in the table. Back in Munich, though, Harry Kane and Co. are in excellent form as they sit atop the Bundesliga and will hope to pick up where they left off when they return to action on January 11, with an away game against Borussia Monchengladbach.
