Shamed David Coote accused of setting up 'drugs party' before Tottenham's Carabao Cup win over Man City, in which he was fourth official, and is said to have sent texts about blowout during half-time

Premier League referee Coote was on fourth official duty for Tottenham's Carabao Cup clash with Manchester City last month but reports suggest he had his mind on other matters. According to The Sun, he allegedly tried to arrange a 'drugs party' in a Travelodge for the match on October 30. The report claims he then texted a friend at half time, saying 'hope you're getting ready' to meet but in the end the party never occurred.

This follows after Coote was captured on video appearing to call Liverpool "sh*t" and their former manager Jurgen Klopp a "German c*nt". The 42-year-old was then suspended by the Professional Game Match Officials Limited, before footage of the official emerged of him snorting a white substance at Euro 2024. There is a chance Coote may never referee again.

UEFA opened an investigation into Coote's actions at Euro 2024 and confirmed the appointment of an Ethics and Disciplinary Inspector to assess whether or not he breached disciplinary regulations.

Coote, who has been a Premier League referee since 2018, will soon find out what punishment is likely to come his way. Every time a new scandal breaks, it suggests the consequences could be more severe.
