  • WHAT HAPPENED?

Edin Dzeko and Dusan Tadic were nowhere to be seen after announcing they would be leaving the club after the match against Konyaspor. The pair had been due to receive commemorative plaques on the pitch but decided that there was too much of a risk of fan unrest and that they would rather stay away after a disappointing campaign.

    WHAT TADIC SAID

Tadic said in a statement: "It was a decision we made together with Dzeko not to play in the last match. We didn't want to damage Fenerbahce's image. The fans have always supported us. I would have preferred it to be in the stadium, but the ambiance is not very good at the moment. That's why it's better to be that way."

  • THE BIGGER PICTURE

Fenerbahce beat Konyaspor 2-1 to finish the Turkish Super Lig season on 84 points, 11 behind champions Galatasaray. Mourinho has been criticised for the job he has done at the club, while he has also been involved in multiple controversies surrounding referees.
