PSG player ratings vs Rennes: Lionel Messi goes missing while Juan Bernat's errors cost Ligue 1 leaders in 2-0 loss

Paris Saint-Germain have been crying out for a response after being knocked out of the Champions League by Bayern Munich. So far, it hasn't come. And the Ligue 1 leaders went missing again on Sunday, losing to 5th-placed Rennes, 2-0.

Kylian Mbappe had a litany of chances early, seeing a goal ruled out for offside, and missing a pair of other openings.

Instead, it was Rennes who broke the deadlock, Karl Toko Ekambi running in behind before driving the ball into the far corner.

They made it two right after half-time, Arnaud Kalimuendo turning home from close range after a flowing counter-attack.

And PSG were helpless to respond. Manager Christophe Galtier switched systems, shouted at his players and pleaded for a turnaround. But he could only watch as his team was overrun.
