Premier League matchday 14 takes place in midweek with entertaining matches that GOAL analyses, and predicts what might happen

  • Jurgen Klopp Liverpool 2021-22

    Who might win?

Massive matches are on the cards in the Premier League in midweek. Arsenal will be away at Old Trafford while Everton and Liverpool will be clashing in the Merseyside Derby. Who has a chance of winning these big games?

  • Timo Werner Chalobah Chelsea

    Watford vs Chelsea

The Blues have been doing well in the ongoing campaign, and despite their 1-1 draw with Manchester United last weekend, they are still top of the table with 30 points from 13 matches. They will be aiming at making amends at Vicarage Road where they have not lost in their last two league visits, scoring four goals and conceding two.

The Hornets have lost their last four meetings with the Blues in the top-tier. They have conceded 10 goals and scored just two, and their last win against the Londoners was in February 2018 when they won 4-1 at home. With their current form, getting a win on Tuesday will not be easy.

    Verdict: Chelsea win, OV2.5

  • Liverpool Everton

    Everton vs Liverpool

The Merseyside Derby is here with us! The Toffees will be at home where the last three Premier League matches have ended in draws. Everton have won one of their last five league matches against the Reds; which was a 2-0 win in the last meeting.

But this season, Liverpool have been blazing hot as opposed to their opponents who have been inconsistent despite a good start to the campaign. They are on a five-match winless run; four losses and a draw.

    Verdict: Liverpool win

  • Manchester City player Riyad Mahrez.

    Aston Villa vs Manchester City

The Citizens are riding high on confidence after defeating West Ham United 2-1 last weekend to take their points tally to 29, just one less than Chelsea who dropped points in a 1-1 draw with Manchester United on Sunday. They have not lost to Villa in their last nine league matches, managing eight wins and a draw.

At home, this season, Aston Villa have managed to collect 10 points from six games after collecting three wins, a draw, and two losses. But it will be tough against the champions who have collected four wins, a draw, and one loss on the road.

    Verdict: City win

  • Antonio Conte Tottenham 2021-22

    Tottenham Hotspur vs Brentford

Another tough outing for Spurs manager Antonio Conte who stated the situation at the club is not as he had expected. They had extended time to prepare for the match after their last game, with Burnley, was suspended. The Bees registered a morale-boosting 1-0 win over Everton on the weekend.

The last meeting between the teams was in January in the League Cup where Spurs won 2-0. In the previous six league meetings, the North Londoners have grabbed three wins and a draw. But with their rich form in front of goal, it will not be an easy outing.

    Verdict: GG

  • Bukayo Saka celebrates with Arsenal teammates

    Manchester United vs Arsenal

New Red Devils manager Ralf Rangnick is starting his reign at Old Trafford with a tricky fixture against old rivals Arsenal. The Red Devils are winless in three league matches but are motivated with a 1-1 draw away at Stamford Bridge on Sunday.

It will not be an easy fixture against the Gunners, a team they have failed to beat in their last six league matches, losing three times and drawing as many times as well. The last win for the Gunners came at Old Trafford in November 2020. With Arsenal riding high on confidence, as opposed to Manchester United, another loss is probable.

    Verdict: GG, Arsenal win
