<p>Guardiola is set to continue with career with the Premier League side after putting pen to paper on a new two-year deal with the Cityzens. The Premier League champions have announced Guardiola's new contract and confirmed he will remain with the club until 2027.</p>

WHAT HAPPENED?

<p>Guardiola's new contract will take him to over a decade at the club where he has enjoyed phenomenal success. The Spaniard has won six Premier League titles, two FA Cups, four League Cups and the Champions League during his time at the Etihad Stadium. Yet City are in the midst of a difficult season, as the club await the verdict of a hearing into their <a href="https://www.goal.com/en-gb/lists/man-city-115-charges-explained-alleged-ffp-breaches-premier-league/blt5ed11b8b09706007" target="_blank">115 alleged breaches of financial rules</a>. Guardiola's side have also struggled on the pitch in recent weeks, <a href="https://www.goal.com/en-gb/lists/how-to-fix-man-city-six-problems-pep-guardiola-needs-to-solve-four-defeats-erling-haaland-julian-alvarez-kyle-walker/blt4c5353c655b6863d" target="_blank">losing their last four games in a row</a> before the international break.</p>

WHAT MAN CITY SAID

<p>Guardiola is currently on his worst ever run as City boss after losing four matches in a row for the first time in his managerial career. Indeed this is the first time City have lost four straight games since August 2006, when Stuart Pearce was in charge.</p>
