'Thank you for everything' - Paulo Dybala leads Roma squad tributes to Jose Mourinho following Portuguese manager's shock dismissal

Roma parted ways with the legendary coach on Tuesday after the club suffered back-to-back defeats against rivals Lazio in the Supercoppa Italiana quarter-final and AC Milan in Serie A. He has been replaced by club legend Daniele De Rossi, who has taken charge of the team until the end of the season. As the former Chelsea, Real Madrid and Manchester United boss bid adieu to the Giallorossi, several players paid tribute to their former manager on social media.

Players like Paulo Dybala, Romelu Lukaku, Tammy Abraham, Rui Patricio and Lorenzo Pellegrini took to Instagram to share their tributes to the 60-year-old coach.

As per The Athletic's report, Mourinho was asked to leave without prior notice. The decision was reportedly made during an impromptu 25-minute meeting and was then communicated to the now-former manager. Mourinho was visibly emotional as he bid farewell to the fans while leaving the club premises.

The manager has yet to decide on his future but former Chelsea player Pat Nevin claimed that he would not rule out a sensational return of Mourinho to Stamford Bridge. The 60-year-old has also been open about his willingness to manage in Saudi Arabia.
