  • WHAT HAPPENED?

Mullin has undergone spinal surgery and will be absent from Wrexham's pre-season tour of the United States. The procedure was timed to ensure that the striker does not miss too many games at the start of the season, and boss Phil Parkinson is hopeful that he will only be absent for a "couple" of fixtures.

    THE BIGGER PICTURE

The Welsh side, bankrolled by Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney, have been promoted to League One and are now targeting their third successive promotion, this time to the Championship. Mullin scored 26 goals in all competitions last season.

  • WHAT PARKINSON SAID

Parkinson said, per Leader Live: "Mulls is going to be close to maybe missing a couple of games at the start of the season if everything goes well but no more than that.

"It is a blow but he is a fit lad and doesn't take long to get back. He will have his own mini pre-season and we will get him back as fit as we can."
