Nottingham Forest 'dodged a bullet' snubbing Jose Mourinho for Ange Postecoglou as Benfica sent 'war with the chairman' message

Colourful Greek billionaire Evangelos Marinakis decided to implement more change on Trentside after admissions from Nuno that he no longer enjoyed a productive working relationship with those filling directorial and ownership roles.

"That’s the last thing Forest needed. Forest don't need that kind of destabilising figure in terms of Mourinho. It’s an obvious talking point for pundits, but worth pointing out that maybe what Nottingham Forest need now is a change in the system."

Postecoglou has brought a different tactical approach with him, as Forest look to move away from the defensive, counter-attacking blueprint of Nuno. They are waiting on a new model to deliver results, with back-to-back defeats being suffered - including a dramatic Carabao Cup loss at Championship side Swansea which saw a lead surrendered in stoppage-time.
