  • Alex Iwobi

    Alex Iwobi

Iwobi didn’t play a part in Everton’s goalless draw at Crystal Palace because he wasn’t fully registered after his deadline-day move from Arsenal.

However, the attacking midfielder is in contention to start when the Toffees host Watford at Goodison Park seeking their first win of the season.

It won’t be a walk in the park, though, as Javi Gracia will demand a response from his Hornets after they were on the receiving end of a 3-0 thrashing by Brighton & Hove Albion at Vicarage Road in gameweek one.

  • Wilfred Ndidi Leicester 2019

    Wilfred Ndidi

Ndidi featured in Leicester City’s 0-0 draw with Wolverhampton Wanderers in their league opener last weekend, and is expected to retain his place for their visit to Chelsea.

Frank Lampard’s side fell to a 4-0 defeat at the hands of Manchester United, so the Foxes have to be wary of the wounded West London outfit.

Last season’s fixture at Stamford Bridge ended in a 1-0 victory for the East Midlands club, so don't be suprised if there's another shock result on Sunday evening.

  • Semi Ajayi - Rotherham United

    Semi Ajayi

West Bromwich Albion failure to pick up a win against Millwall at The Hawthorns last weekend was unexpected given pre-match tips pointing to an Albion victory.

Ajayi featured for the entirety of the 1-1 draw but wasn’t quite at his best on his home boy. The centre-back should keep his place in Slaven Bilic’s side that’ll face newly-promoted Luton Town at Kenilworth Road.

Last season’s League One champions haven’t had it easy on their return the Championship after a 12-year absence, and currently sit in 17th after failing to win their opening two games.

Ajayi and his teammates should fancy their chances of extending that winless run to three.

  • Kenneth Omeruo_Leganes

    Kenneth Omeruo

Following the completion of his move to Leganes during the week, Omeruo is contention to start when the Cucumber Growers host Osasuna at the Municipal de Butarque.

While the former Chelsea defender is expected to start against Los Rojillos, Chidozie Awaziem, who’s joined on loan for a season, might sit the game out.

After their unimpressive results at the tail end of last season (lost three of their final five games), Mauricio Pellegrino will want a bright start to the campaign against the league’s new boys.

  • Samuel Chukwueze - Villarreal 2019-20

    Samuel Chukwueze

Last season was the Villarreal winger’s breakout year, and his style of play was likened to now-retired Dutch wideman Arjen Robben.

Chukwueze ought to feature in Javier Calleja’s starting lineup that battles Getafe at El Madrigal, as the Yellow Submarine aim to begin their year on a high.

Calleja’s side flirted with relegation in the final months of last season, owing to their poor start and subsequent inconsistent results, and won’t want a repeat in the new campaign.

  • Lille's Victor Osimhen

    Victor Osimhen

The LOSC Lille forward introduced himself to his new fans with a debut brace against Nantes, as it ended 2-1.

Osimhen will be out to pick up where he left off when Les Dogues travel to Amiens on Saturday evening.

The hosts fell to a 2-1 defeat against Nice in gameweek one and will back themselves to respond in front of their fans at Stade de la Licorne.

Last season’s games between these sides were close encounters (3-2 and 2-1), and this year’s first meeting might follow suit.

  • Samuel Kalu, Bordeaux

    Samuel Kalu

Bordeaux’s miserable end to the previous campaign seems to have crept into this new one as well.

The Girondins were beaten 3-1 by Angers last time out, which stretched their poor run in the competition to four defeats in their last five domestic league games.

Kalu played poorly in the aforementioned defeat and faces an anxious wait to see if he’ll be retained for the visit of Montpellier.

Bordeaux didn’t get the rub of the green in this fixture last season, falling to defeats in both.

  • Henry Onyekuru Gary Medel Besiktas Galatasaray STSL

    Henry Onyekuru

After failing to secure a work permit to play for Everton, Onyekuru departed for Monaco on a permanent deal.

The wideman, who scored 14 goals in 31 appearances for Galatasaray last season, is in the mix to start when the Red and Whites do battle with Metz at Stade Saint-Symphorien.

Leonardo Jardim’s troops narrowly avoided relegation last season and, going by their 3-0 defeat by Lyon last time out, could face yet another challenging campaign if they don’t improve.
