Barca will be back in domestic action on Sunday when playing host to Sevilla. Teenage sensation Yamal is struggling to make that fixture after picking up a hamstring injury while away with Spain on UEFA Nations League duty.

The 17-year-old, who helped his country to Euro 2024 glory over the summer, has been in impressive form for club and country this season. No risks will be taken on his fitness as La Liga competition resumes, but Barca are understandably keen to select him as often as possible.

La Masia academy Yamal has been compared to Barcelona great Lionel Messi, with Pedrosa saying of the excitement surrounding the hottest of prospects: "At his age, I have never seen a player like him, so decisive. You don’t have to obsess with this type of player, just be focused throughout the match. Don’t put more pressure on yourself than you already have. I have faced other great players and I deal with it naturally."

Yamal has registered five goals and as many assists for Barcelona this season, through 11 appearances in all competitions. He is considered to be one of the most exciting talents in world football, with opposition defences now fully aware of the threat that he poses.
