MTN8: Sithebe or Ngcobo? Kaizer Chiefs midfield choice divides fans after poor show against AmaZulu

After a 1-1 draw in the first leg of the MTN8 Cup semi-final against AmaZulu, Kaizer Chiefs fans debated who between Nkosingiphile Ngcobo and Siyethemba Sithebe should be in the team.

Since he signed from AmaZulu before the season began, Sithebe has gone on to become a regular starter under Arthur Zwane as Ngcobo is mostly benched.

And that did not change in the cup tie on Sunday at FNB Stadium, as Sithebe started before he was replaced by Keagan Dolly – the goalscorer – in the 46th minute.

Ngcobo came on in the 74th minute as Amakhosi failed to find a way past Usuthu, who suffered two red cards, given to Frank Mhango, the scorer of the opening goal, and Veluyeke Zulu.

Sithebe’s performance came under the spotlight as fans debated his suitability – against his midfield rival - as a starter.

Some fans extended the debate to the coach in another season that the Glamour Boys have not started in an impressive fashion.
