THE BIGGER PICTURE
After an impressive outing at the Wanda Metropolitano, Diego Simeone's side are reportedly seeking a move for the player in the summer of 2024, according to Mundo Deportivo. Atletico will face competition from giants Barcelona and Real Madrid along with Greenwood's current employers Getafe, who want to make the player's move permanent from United next year.
DID YOU KNOW?
The England international has appeared in 15 matches thus far for Geta Azulones since joining them on loan in the summer, and has already scored five times and provided four assists.
As reported by The Athletic, there is a sell-on clause in the player's loan deal which allows Getafe to pay only 80% of any agreed price with his parent club. If Greenwood is sold elsewhere, Getafe will still earn 20% of the transfer fee.
