Man Utd correspondent Charlotte Duncker reveals her men’s GOAL50 top 10

With voting under way in this year’s GOAL50, fans around the world are having their say on which men’s and women’s players had the best 2021.

Our team of correspondents are also getting involved, revealing their top 10s this week.

Manchester United correspondent Charlotte Duncker has now compiled her list, which you can see below.

Remember, though, you can still cast more votes. The polls are open until November 16!

  • Cristiano Ronaldo Manchester United 2021-22Getty Images

    10Cristiano Ronaldo

No top 10 list would be complete without him. Plenty criticised him for his time at Juventus not working out but he remains one of the greatest goalscorers on the planet and continues to smash records for club and country. Not bad for a 36-year-old.

    9Erling Haaland

Some doubted Erling Haaland would be able to maintain the phenomenal strike-rate that thrust him onto the world stage with Red Bull Salzburg but he's still scoring a goal in nearly every game for Dortmund.

  • Gigi Donnarumma PSG Goal50 SLIDELISTGetty

    8Gianluigi Donnarumma

Officially the best player of Euro 2020, with his penalty shootout heroics proving crucial to Italy's triumph, the giant goalkeeper is still only 22 but he's been one of the most consistent shot-stoppers in the world for years.

  • N'Golo Kante Chelsea 2021-22Getty

    7N'Golo Kante

The key to Chelsea's Champions League triumph and an all-action midfielder that the majority of managers would want in their side. Kante oozes calm and confidence on the ball. Working with Thomas Tuchel has taken him to the next level.
  • Lionel Messi Paris Saint-Germain PSG 2021-22Getty Images

    6Lionel Messi

In the same way a top 10 list wouldn't be complete without Ronaldo, there's no way Messi can be excluded either. He's not the best in the world at the moment but he's still up there. His shock Barcelona exit may have hit him hard but his Champions League strike for PSG against Man city proved he's still got it.
  • Kylian Mbappe FranceGetty Images

    5Kylian Mbappe

He's at the front of the queue to replace Ronaldo and Messi as the game's next great superstar. He's not quite number one yet but he's still only 22 and his skills are comparable to those at the very top. Even better, he now gets to link up with Messi on a weekly basis, which is only going to improve his game.
  • Romelu Lukaku, Chelsea 2021-22Getty

    4Romelu Lukaku

The Belgian fired Antonio Conte's Inter side to a first Serie A title since 2010, earning himself a lucrative transfer to Chelsea in the process. Lukaku has his critics but his goalscoring record at club and international level speaks for itself.

  • Kevin De Bruyne Manchester City 2020-21Getty Images

    3Kevin De Bruyne

Consistently one of the best players in the Premier League and one of the most important cogs of Pep Guardiola's well-oiled Manchester City machine. An assist king with the vision of a hawk to pick out a killer pass, partial to a spectacular finish and more than capable of running the game in the middle. Quite simply one of the best players in the world in his position.

    2Mohamed Salah

Everyone is running out of superlatives to describe the Liverpool forward. In his current form, he's unstoppable and giving Messi a run for his money with the quality of his goals. Just a sensational attacking talent.

  • Robert Lewandowski Bayern Munich Goal50 SLIDELISTGetty

    1Robert Lewandowski

Favourite to win the Ballon d'Or and it's easy to see why. A goal machine with 41 goals in the Bundesliga last season and he's showing no signs of slowing down.  A record-breaker who is powering Bayern Munich to victory after victory, he's the best in the world.
