Judgement day for Man City? Premier League CEO Richard Masters give big update on when decision over club's 115 alleged financial breaches will come

City were hit with 115 financial fair play charges by the Premier League in February 2023 relating to financial irregularities between 2009-2018. It was thought the verdict for any punishment would not come out until late 2025 but Masters' update may mean the treble winners, who strongly deny the allegations, could find out sooner than then.

Telegraph reporter Ben Rumsby relayed that Masters said City's hearing over the charges would take place soon but did not specify a date. He was appearing at a European Leagues press conference in London on Friday.

Everton and Nottingham Forest were docked points this season for financial fair play breaches and due to the severity of the charges, City could be hit with bigger points deductions; with talk of trophies being stripped and relegation mooted - although the latter may be unlikely.

While this huge matter will continue behind the scenes, defending Premier League champions City, who sit second behind Arsenal, are away to relegation-threatened Forest at City Ground on Sunday afternoon.
