    THE BIGGER PICTURE

United beat out Real Madrid to sign the highly-rated teenager but he is yet to play for their first-team in a competitive game due to the setback that required surgery. The club stress there is still 'plenty of work still to do' for the youngster before he makes his Red Devils debut but this is a step in the right direction.

  • DID YOU KNOW?

The defender made 44 appearances in all competitions for Lille last season, scoring three goals along the way. He was in the Ligue 1 Team of the Year in 2023-24 as clubs across the world coveted his signature. In the end, United got their man and he signed a deal at Old Trafford until 2029.
