He could only survive a season and a half in his underwhelming time in England and Musa returned to CSKA Moscow on loan in January 2018 before making a permanent move to Saudi Arabian side AL Nassr for £14.85m in August 2018.

Musa then featured at Kano Pillars, Fatih Karagumruk and Sivasspor.

Kante was scouted for Leicester by Steve Walsh, who previously helped them sign players like Jamie Vardy and Riyad Mahrez.

Walsh wanted Kante to be Esteban Cambiasso's successor at the club.

In August 2015, he joined the Foxes in an £8.1m deal and impressed with some incredible performances to help lead his team to the 2015-16 Premier League title.

Kante went on to win the World Cup with France in 2018.

  • Danny Drinkwater Leicester CityGetty Images

    6Danny Drinkwater | £34.11m | Chelsea | 2017

Just one season after Chelsea signed his midfield partner N'Golo Kante, Danny Drinkwater made the move from Leicester to Stamford Bridge.

The west London side paid an unrealistic £34.11m for his signature in a move which would go on to be one of the worst transfers made in recent history.

Drinkwater made 22 appearances in all competitions in his first season, but he didn't play a single game in the Premier League in the whole of the 2018-19 season - his only appearance in all competitions was during the Community Shield against Manchester City.

In the summer of 2019, he was loaned to Burnley and then Aston Villa, Kasimpasa in Turkey and Reading.

In October 2022, the midfielder joined Istanbul Besaksehir on a free transfer.

Spurs announced the signing of the attacking midfielder after striking a £40 million ($50.5m) deal following Leicester's fall into the Championship at the end of the 2022-23 campaign.

Maddison was also targeted by Newcastle, but Spurs beat their Premier League rivals to the punch, and he signed a contract until 2028 at his new club to end an impressive spell with the Foxes.

  • Ben Chilwell Leicester City ChelseaGetty Images

Chilwell had joined Leicester at the age of 12 and made his Premier League debut in December 2016 against Everton.

The English full-back went on to make 99 appearances in the Premier League over five years with the Foxes before the Blues swooped in to sign him.

Chilwell has since won the Champions League, UEFA Super Cup and FIFA Club World Cup with Chelsea.

  • Riyad Mahrez Leicester CityGetty Images

The first ever Algerian to win the Premier League, Riyad Mahrez was arguably the best performer for Leicester when they lifted the trophy in 2016.

His performances were so good that he was also nominated for the Ballon d'Or that year, finishing seventh in the rankings.

After 179 appearances in all competitions, Mahrez departed for Manchester City for a then club record £61m.

Since then, he has won three Premier League titles, three Carabao Cups and one FA Cup.

  • Wesley Fofana Leicester CityGetty Images

    2Wesley Fofana | £72.36m | Chelsea | 2022

After humble beginnings at Saint-Etienne in France, Wesley Fofana joined Leicester City in October 2020 for £31.5m, signing a five-year contract.

Fofana won the first honour of his career in England when he won the 2021 FA Cup final with Leicester. He later won the club's best Young Player of the Season award.

In August 2021, the Frenchman suffered a broken leg in a pre-season friendly against Villarreal and was out for seven months.

In his first game back in March 2022, he scored in Leicester's 2-1 loss to Rennes in the last-16 of the Europa Conference League, which secured the Foxes' place in the next round on a 3-2 aggregate scoreline.

Yet again, Chelsea were the ones who came to sign him in the summer of 2022 for an eye-watering £72.36m.

  • Harry Maguire Leicester City 2019-20

    1Harry Maguire | £78.3m | Manchester United | 2019

Manchester United made Harry Maguire the most expensive defender on the planet when they agreed to pay Leicester £78.3m for the Englishman in 2019.

Maguire made his United debut in the opening match of the Premier League season in a 4-0 win against Chelsea and was announced Man of the Match.

In the 2019-20 season, the English defender played a significant role in United's successful Premier League campaign, where they finished third, their second-highest league finish since Sir Alex Ferguson's retirement.

In the 2020-21 season, he was part of the United team that won 9-0 against Southampton.

It was in that season Maguire was announced as the club captain and went on to wear the armband for quite some time until Erik ten Hag arrived in 2022.
