Klopp left Liverpool at the end of last season after bringing an end to his nine-year stint with the Reds which saw him transform the Merseyside club's dwindling future. Slot was signed as the German's successor and the Dutchman has been enjoying life with the club as they sit on top of the Premier League rankings, finished the Champions League league stage in first place and are also in the Carabao Cup final.

THE BIGGER PICTURE
Klopp remains a dearly loved member of Liverpool following his departure, however, he has not yet returned to Merseyside even once since leaving the Reds. Slot has now revealed that the German coach would be welcome to visit the Reds' training ground and Anfield 'anytime he wants' but claimed that Klopp has yet to take up the offer and has also rejected two such approaches by the Dutchman.

WHAT SLOT SAID
Speaking to the media, Slot said: "I invited him [Klopp] to the [Manchester] City and Real [Madrid] home games but he told me he was somewhere else in the world.
"He can come here any time he wants, to the games or even to this building [at the training ground in Kirkby].
"For me, he is more than welcome. In the first half of the season he was enjoying life, with his wife, and at this moment he has a job to do."
WHAT NEXT FOR KLOPP?
It is obvious that Klopp has not had time to return to Liverpool as the German spent the first half of the season away from the sport completely before taking on his duties as the global head of soccer at Red Bull.
