Aiming to forget, Jose?! Mourinho unfollows Roma on Instagram following his brutal sacking

The 60-year-old was dismissed from his managerial role earlier this month after taking over in May 2021, with former midfielder Daniele de Rossi taking charge until the end of the season. After leading them to a Europa Conference League triumph in 2022 and the final of the Europa League in 2023, he was given his marching orders with the Italian side ninth in Serie A. Now, the former Real Madrid manager has severed ties with Roma on Instagram.

Mourinho has won some of the biggest trophies in England, Spain, Portugal, and Italy but the big question is, can the Portuguese manage at a top club again? He has been criticised for being too negative with his tactics.

Mourinho, who was out of contract at Roma at the end of this season, said he had rejected the "craziest offer" last summer when they were 16th in the table. But in the end, the former Chelsea, Porto, Tottenham and Manchester United boss stayed, before being given his marching orders months later.

Mourinho will be linked with a host of jobs while he is out of the managerial game. He has already been linked with Barcelona and Saudi Pro League team Al-Shabab, and more are likely to come his way in the not so distant future.
