'I am very happy at Milan' - USMNT star Christian Pulisic denies Italian media reports of rift with new coach Sergio Conceicao

U.S. International Christian Pulisic on Thursday denied reports that had alleged a rift between the player and new coach Sergio Conceicao, insisting that he had no issue with the current setup at Milan.

Reports of the supposed issue between the two emerged after AC Milan's Champions League exit at the hands of Feyenoord on Tuesday. Pulisic was taken out of the match as a second-half substitute in that loss.

According to reports out of Italy, tension in the Milan locker room has been very high, and Pulisic had asked for a transfer.

"I have never argued with the coach and I have never asked to leave," Pulisic said in a statement released on AC Milan's social media accounts. "I am very happy at Milan and I want to continue wearing this shirt. Reading these lies is unacceptable, but let's all continue to remain united and fight together on the pitch, for the club and for our fans."

Pulisic has arguably been Milan's best player this season, and that run of form has continued under Conceicao, who arrived just in time to lead the club to the Supercoppa Italiana in January. In 13 games under the new coach, Pulisic has provided four goals and four assists in all competitions. The U.S. men's national team star leads the team in goals in all competitions with 12 in total, while he's also the club's assist leader in Serie A with six.

Reports recently emerged that Pulisic was prepared to sign a new contract in Milan, and the American star recently spoke to GOALabout how he's found joy since making the big move to Italy.

Even with their Champions League elimination, Milan have plenty left to fight for this season. They're currently seventh in Serie A, and will need to amass points to really challenge for a top-four spot. Up next is a visit to Torino on Saturday. Additionally, the club is still involved in the Copa Italia. They'll play in the semifinal of that competition starting on April 2.
