  • WHAT HAPPENED?

    The home of the Cowboys beat out New Jersey's MetLife Stadium, according to the Daily Mail. The decision has finally been made after months of speculation, and all the other host cities confirmed. The 2026 version of the tournament will sport a new format, seeing 104 games played across 39 days in three different countries.

    THE BIGGER PICTURE

    The 2026 final is set to be the biggest sporting event ever held in the United States in one single location, now that the venue has been confirmed. Able to hold over 100,000 persons, AT&T Stadium will see an attendance bigger than suburbs of metropolitan cities attend the contest. The venue has hosted everything from Dirt Bike Racing events to Monster Truck driving to pop concerts, as well as every other sporting event possible. It also has a retractable roof meaning, if the weather is poor, it will not effect the match. They key attraction, though, is that it boasts a $40m hung HDTV video board, measuring 160 feet by 72 feet.

    World Cup qualifying campaigns around the world have already begun, and they'll continue throughout the course of 2024. However, as a hosting nation, all three of Mexico, USA and Canada have qualified for the tournament automatically.
