Sani was frustrated by the United performance, saying: "This is what happens if you don’t take your chances. Onana is embarrassing omg."

Alexei was simple in their assessment: "Onana is a liability."

Meanwhile, Gerry Deakin is missing a former player. "Onana has been responsible for more goals conceded than De Gea ever was. But agendas will agend," they said.

While Onana could and should have been stronger when pushing away the Bergvall effort, he will also be frustrated by the lack of reaction from his defenders. When the Swedish midfielder hits his shot, only Maddison made a movement towards the goal and found himself in acres of space. Onana will be particularly disappointed that Matthijs de Ligt allowed the English midfielder to evade him so easily.

United are currently languishing in the bottom half of the Premier League table. While the club is suffering with a huge number of injury problems, the Red Devils' faithful will be angry to find themselves so far down the table.
