Although the departure of Gundogan to Manchester City will free up approximately €20 million (£17m/$22m) in gross annual wages and Roque is set to join Real Betis on loan, the Catalan club must offload a few more players to be able to register the Spanish forward.

Mika Faye's departure was nearly finalized with Rennes, but last-minute interest from Lille, PSV, and Besiktas have complicated matters. Barcelona are aiming to secure around €15m (£13m/$17m) for Faye while retaining some form of control over his future, conditions that have slowed down the negotiations.

Another player whose exit is proving to be a challenge is Clement Lenglet.
