'Pain' - Cristiano Ronaldo shares cryptic message as Al-Nassr superstar prepares to join up with Portugal squad ahead of Euro 2024

Following the conclusion of the Saudi Pro League season, Ronaldo will link up with his compatriots in the coming days. Portugal boss Roberto Martinez granted the 39-year-old a week-long holiday ahead of Euro 2024 and during his time relaxing, the veteran has posted a rather obscure message on social media.

The Instagram story shows a piece of paper that reads: "3 aspects of reality: Pain, uncertainty and constant work," and above it is a love heart added by Ronaldo.

This summer's Euros will be Ronaldo's 12th international tournament as he attempts to lead Portugal to another triumph on the continent. The former Real Madrid man has scored 128 goals in 206 caps and topped the scoring charts at Euro 2020. He and his country will hope he can be in top form for the fast-approaching competition in Germany.

Ronaldo, who played a key role in Portugal's Euro 2016 triumph, may miss his country's friendly games against Croatia and Ireland on June 8 and 11 respectively but is likely to feature in their tournament opener against Czech Republic on June 18.
