Conference League record-breaker Michael Noonan returns to school just hours after becoming competition's youngest-ever scorer

Noonan featured in Shamrock Rovers' starting lineup against Molde in the first leg of their Europa Conference League knockout play-offs clash and scored the winner in the 57th minute. At the age of 16, the Irish forward became the youngest-ever goal scorer in the competition's history. This was also the player's debut for the Hoops. He joined them in the January transfer window from St Patrick's Athletic.

A day after Noonan created history in Europe, he was spotted heading to school as his mother posted a photograph of him carrying a school bag on X. She wrote in the caption: "And back to school he goes."

Right after Shamrock's first leg encounter, Noonan's mother Sandie was quoted saying: "I think it's safe to say I'm the proudest Mam in the whole world tonight!"

The Irish club will be back in action in the league on Sunday as they take on Bohemians before hosting Molde in the second leg on February 20.
