Cole Palmer has displayed phenomenal form since joining Chelsea from Manchester City last summer. He is the only player to record 50 goals and assists in the league since the start of the 2023/24 season and on Sunday, the English star scored a brace to inspire his team's brilliant comeback win over Tottenham Hotspur.

    THE BIGGER PICTURE

After yet another brilliant display, Palmer has been showered with praises from all quarters. Ex-England international and pundit Paul Merson too heaped praises on the Blues star as he claimed that the 22-year-old is capable of guiding the West London to a Premier League title.

  • WHAT PAUL MERSON SAID

Speaking on Sky Sports, Merson said, "He's phenomenal. No one really knew much about him when he came from Man City, so it was a free hit for him. But in the last seven months, he's now the big boy. The name of the game for opposition is to stop Cole Palmer.

"Teams are trying to stop him - and they can't do it. That shows you how good he is. He's too intelligent. He's always got space. Everybody needs an X-factor to win a Premier League title and Chelsea have it with him."
