<p>The midfielder went on to <a href="https://www.goal.com/en/lists/bruno-fernandes-tackle-james-maddison-never-red-card-man-utd-captain-claims-tottenham-star-agreed-referee-chris-kavanagh-wrong/blt679e018385c4fb81" target="_blank">protest that the foul was "never a red card" after the game</a> and United subsequently appealed against the decision. <p>Fernandes' red card, which was the third of the 30-year-old's career, meant he was to be suspended for his team's matches against Aston Villa, Brentford and West Ham, but he will be available for head coach Erik ten Hag after the FA's decision.</p>
