Brentford target Borussia Dortmund star Max Beier as German side close in on Fabio Silva signing

According to Sky Sport, the London side tried to sign the attacker last summer when he was still at Hoffenheim, but Beier chose to move to Dortmund. The 22-year-old remains on Brentford’s radar, with two other Premier League clubs also keeping close watch. Despite the interest, the German club is still unsure about parting ways with the forward. However, with the Bundesliga giants closing in on signing Wolves striker Silva, their stance could change. 

Beier was used regularly last season, scoring 10 goals and registering six assists in 46 appearances in all competitions. His form has put him on the radar of several clubs in England, but he feels comfortable in Dortmund despite sitting on the bench for the full 90 minutes of the Bundesliga opener against St. Pauli. 

Meanwhile, BVB are close to completing a deal for Silva. The Portuguese forward is set to cost around €25 million (£22m/$29m), with final details between the two clubs being settled. 

Roma are also pushing for Silva and have reportedly been in talks with the striker’s camp. But Dortmund, after a series of failed transfer signings, are determined to get this one done. Deals for Claudio Echeverri and Facundo Buonanotte have already slipped away, though they did wrap up the arrivals of Carney Chukwuemeka and Aaron Anselmino from Chelsea.

For now, Dortmund’s focus is on finalising Silva’s move, while Beier remains part of their plans. Brentford’s interest may not go away, but unless BVB change their stance, the striker looks set to stay in Germany and compete with the Portuguese forward.
